Hi JETF, just to let you know the trip went brilliantly and thank you so much for the funding to support it. Many parents expressed their appreciation to me on the day.
It was a pretty busy event with over 60 children and parents, thanks again….another great success for JETF and children with diabetes in Somerset.
Kind regards

The Afinion is a machine that enables trained operators to test glycated haemoglobin (a good indicator of an individual’s glucose control over about 60 days).
The Josh Evans Fund recently purchased this machine for our service to use at the Robert Blake Children’s Facility in Bridgwater.
Having this equipment at that site is fantastic, as it now enables us to test quality assured glycated haemoglobin at the point of care, for all children with diabetes in West Somerset.
Having this facility is Nationally recommended, because we have their result available to discuss with the child and family at the time of their consultation. This is really helpful, not only in being able to give immediate feedback but also assists in planning any treatment changes together, towards achieving or sustaining the National glucose targets.
