Children’s Drawing Competition

The Children’s Drawing Competition

This competition was run earlier in the summer for 7 – 11 year olds, as we wanted to have some wonderful artwork from the children to put in our new information booklet for children and families newly diagnosed with diabetes.

The standard of entries was brilliant and because we had such a hard job of choosing a winner, we ended up with 3 winners, all of whom feature in the new booklet. Tabby aged 8 yrs on the front cover, Megan aged 9 yrs in the middle section on exercise management and Millie aged 8 yrs on the back page.

We are really delighted with their contributions and are awaiting the booklet being published.

The winners received a £25 gift card of their choice and all entrants received a certificate of achievement from the JETF.

Books provided for Royal United Hospital in Bath

The Paediatric Diabetes Team based at the Royal United Hospital in Bath would like to thank the Josh Evans Trust for the donation of 30 Carbs and Cals books which we are now able to give to all of our newly diagnosed young people and their families. Counting carbohydrates is an important part of good diabetes management and these books really help families come to grips with what is often a new concept at a stressful time.
