The Transition Fayre

A great evening at the Diabetes transition Fayre today sponsored by the Trust Fund.

Good networking and meeting children who had been at Kilve.

We were joined by Somerset Road Safety and the Advanced Motorist Association who were promoting Ev’s Driving Tips.

Santa Express Success

Santa Express

Hi JETF, just to let you know the trip went brilliantly and thank you so much for the funding to support it. Many parents expressed their appreciation to me on the day.

It was a pretty busy event with over 60 children and parents, thanks again….another great success for JETF and children with diabetes in Somerset.

Kind regards

Michelle

Diabetes Family Support Group

The Musgrove team are delighted to be able to offer these sessions again this year for the parents of children newly diagnosed within the previous 12 months. The Josh Evans Trust Fund financially supports the venue and refreshment costs and we know that parents find the sessions really helpful.
A set of 5 or 6 sessions are co-facilitated by the Team psychologist and either a children’s diabetes specialist nurse or a consultant paediatrician, according to the content requested by attending parents. The sessions run for 1-2 hours, every 2 weeks, early evening at living lights church. The sessions have been incredibly well evaluated by parents.
In general we hope that the group will offer parents a chance to:

  • meet and learn from other families whose child has diabetes
  • share experiences and helpful advice
  • discuss fundraising/social ideas
  • request teaching on topics of interest from other members of the team

Please contact the children’s paediatric team for more information on the latest sessions.
